The Vienna Draft greatly influenced the Czechoslovak Private International Law Act of 1948.7 The Vienna Draft was the primary basis for the elaboration of the governmental Draft of the Civil Code in the Czechoslovak Republic between the wars (1920-1936).4 The differences between the current legislation in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia are not yet considerable.In both states the same Private International Law Act of 1963 still applies,which was amended after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in particular in connection with the accession of both states to the European Union; other amendments are so far only unsubstantial.
