是raise和rise吧：
"rise"是不及物动词,过去是为rose,过去分词为risen,其基本语义为“上升,上涨”.例：
The sun rises in the east.太阳从东边升起.
A good idea rose in my mind.他想出了一个好主意.
"raise"是及物规则动词,“举起,提高”.例：
He raised his voice to make himself heard.
为了听得更清楚些,他提高了嗓音.
The boy can raise the heavy stone.
那个男孩儿可以举起那块沉重的石头.
此外：这两个词除了提高、升高、抬起等意思外都各自还有其它的用法.例如：
raise
招募：to raise an army
养育、栽培：to raise a family
提出（一个问题）：to raise a question
建造、建立：to raise a memorial
发出（什么声响）：ro raise a laugh,to raise the alarm
结束：to raise an embargo （解除禁运）
etc.
rise:
起床、站起来：to rise from table （餐毕）起立离桌
