Perform this experiment.Obtain two quarters and a string that is about fifteen centimetres long.Attach one coin to each end of the string with a small piece of tape.Suspend one quarter over the edge of a smooth horizontal table.Place the other quarter flat on the table so that the string is extended.Release the coins.Write a one page report about what determines whether the coins remain stationary or fall to the floor.The report does not have to use a special format and single spacing is acceptable.You will be marked on how well you explain scientific principles and the accuracy of your statements.Your report should be understandable by nonscientists.If you refer to the work of others,you must cite your sources.
