As the foreign invested enterprises are increasing continuously, more and more Chinese start working in these enterprises. Though the natures and places of their work may differ, they will all come across the same problem as how to take to international business and trade activities and how to get a leading position in such enterprises run by foreigners. Difference in languages is undoubtedly the biggest barrier facing them, because, in addition to the English for daily life and for academic purposes which we are familiar with, the business English is the most important means of communication in modern foreign invested enterprises, and, as everyone need to work or is working with it, it has become an absolute must, a language of living and a language of development for all those working in such enterprises. Since the foreign invested enterprises take the standardized business English as a criterion in selecting non-native English speaking employees, it has become a gate-pass for joining the internationalized enterprises. It is therefore necessary to ‘professionalize’ the business English so as to solve this problem.
