other people's 是being late 的逻辑主语.你还可以说other people .
同样的用法：mind doing sth( 就像空朦水域说的）
Do you mind me / my smoking?me 相当于 other people ,my 相当于other people's ,都是作的smoking 的逻辑主语.
也就是说：动名词前加上宾格或所有格叫做动名词的逻辑主语.
另外,说说为什么不说 I hate other people`s late
hate 和like 这两个词要注意,他们接从句的时候,通常是要接形式宾语的,然后再接真正的宾语从句.也就是说你的这句话要改一下：
I hate it that other people`s late.(it 是形式宾语,that引导的句子是真正的宾语）
