Two Americans were travelling in Spain. One morning they came into a little restaurant for lunch. They did not know Spanish, and their waiter did not know English. They wanted him to understand that they wanted some milk and sandwiches. At first they pronounced the word"milk"many times. Then they spell it.But the waiter still could not understand. At last one of them took a piece of paper and began to draw a cow. When he was finishing his work, the waiter looked at it and ran out.
"Do you see,"said one of the travellers,"What a pencil can do for a man who had difficulties in a foreign country!"The waiter was back again some time later. But he brought no milk.He put down in front of the two men tickets(票) for a bull-fight.
注释:那个服务员看到他画牛,以为他要看斗牛赛(西班牙以斗牛而闻名),所以跑去给他们带来了“tickets for a bull-fight(斗牛赛的票)"
另外,还有两空你做错了:
1.是“began to draw” 而不是:“drew” [begin to do sth.]
2.是“one of the travellers” 而不是:“traveller” [one of +复数名词]
---绝对正确!
