Attached are the Transmittal 9 documents for the cooking project.These are revised specifications for two of the heat exchangers.
It was noticed that material specified for the Black Liquor and Filtrate coolers was SS2343 which is 316 stainless steel.This should have been specified as SS2348 which is 316L stainless steel.While this is not so critical for Filtrate Cooler,it is critical for Black Liquor Cooler.An alternate material of construction for the filtrate and black liquor cooler can be 304L.The “L” in the designation means low carbon content which means it resists corrosion better when there is welding involved.
