过去分词短语作修饰语时,可以放在被修饰名词前面和后面,放在后面时,就是过去分词作后置定语.它的作用相当于一个定语从句.
例如：
In 1983 there were only 200 computers connected to the internet.
(connected to the Internet) 是过去分词作后置定语,相当于定语从句 which were connected to the Internet.
又如：Most of the people invited to the party are his schoolmates.
（invited to the party ）是过去分词作后置定语
