表示过去的能力时只能用can的过去式could吗?我查了资料又说了许多表示过去能力不用could的情况,感觉好乱.
甚至有些语法直接说二者没有时态区别!

这种情况不用纠结,could 一是过去式,二是比can 更加委婉,所以这里仅是时态的问题,还有说话人语态的表答.如果是过去的时态,优先用could.这里语法上能用can吗？或者说can能表示过去的能力吗？口语上是没问题的。文字上的最好用couldnt。
