When children reach the age of schooling, parents will send them to kindergarten. Perhaps attending kindergarten will be the first experience of social life for most 3-year old children.For many, it is their first time away from home, and separation anxiety often accompanies this new experience. Both parents and teachers should help the children to alleviate fears and anxiety in their first days of kindergarten. This paper will discuss ways to ease the children's transition from home to kindergarten. Children's mental age will be into consideration. The nature of the separation anxiety and the differences in how parents prepare their children for kindergarten will also be discussed in depth. To resolve the adaptation problem of children at kindergarten, a thorough understanding and analysis is essential. Finally, suggestions and recommendations will be offered to both parents and teachers so that they can find a suitable way to prepare their children for the transition.
