When he was asked about his job,he said that he was a carpenter.
ask 和 he 是被动关系,所以首先确定 was asked
为了避免和后面的主语重复,一般都将 he was 去掉;
同样的如果用talk填这一题的话,因为he和talk是主动关系,应该确定填的是 was talking,省掉he was,答案就是talking
