The most famous food here in Korea is kimchi.It is the food we eat everyday. There are about 190 kinds of kimchi.Each place has a different kind. Also, there are different kinds for different times of year. For example,in spring watery kimchi which we call mool kimchi, and Chinese cabbages are popular.In summer,young radish kimchi which we call chong kak kimchi and cucumber kimchi are common.
Korea is a small country. There is no enough land to grow vegetables.In winter. it often snows and it is very cold. In old days,people found pepper was very good for them. They also found salt water could help them keep cabbage longer. So they mixed pepper,salt and cabbage together. They named it kimchi.
Today, kimchi has lots of things in it,such as fish,lettuce,pears,apples and other ingredients. Some scientists say kimchi is very good for healthy,but others don't agree.
