Since space exploration is considered as the greatest dream of the human race, a large amount of money has been invested into this field every year. Meanwhile, a highly-debated issue has arisen as to whether those investments are a waste of government funds or not. While there are valid arguments to the contrary, I believe that there are many benefits from such research, but part of the costs involved should be saved for use in other areas, thereby improving the living standard of the public at large.
Obviously, it is an undeniable fact that space exploration has revolutionized the whole way we view the world. Since the American astronaut Neil Armstrong first handed on the moon, people of both developed and developing countries have constantly conducted research on the earth and the galaxies. Indeed, during the race among different nations, a series of achievements and accomplishes have been created, such as GPS. Therefore, it is unwise and unrealistic to deny the important contributions space research has made to human progress.

Topic: Some people think space research is a waste of money. The government should spend money on the improvement of people’s living conditions. What is your opinion?
However, a big part of the problem of space exploration is the fact that our current technology is unable to realize such dreams of ours as settling on other planets like Mars or meeting alien creatures. In addition, the costs of the research involved are exorbitantly high. Actually, part of this kind of spending can be used in more essential areas of our society, for instance, education, energy crisis and poverty eradication, thereby improving our life as a group..
In conclusion, let me reiterate my position that the efforts to explore the universe are of great benefit to humanity, but more government avenues and research funds should be deployed on more urgent or serious issues s as to createa better world for all to live in.
