Data for this research were obtained using question-
naires that were commonly used in other studies.Pre-
vious research has identified these items as valid and
reliable measures in Eastern as well as Western cul-
tures (Farh,Earley,& Lin,1997; Kim,Price,Mueller,
& Watson,1996).Subjects were asked to indicate
the extent to which they agreed with the statement
on a 5-point Likert scale (15strongly disagree,
55strongly agree).The reliabilities (in terms of
Cronbach’s a coefficient) of all these scales were
reevaluated based on data gathered in the present
sample.
