Abstract: The academe still holds two different views on the policy of “Upholding the predominance of the Confucianism and forbiddance to the other philosophies” which was made by Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty. Early in his political career, Emperor Wu kept finding the feasibility of Confucianism, which the author of this paper believed the authenticity of his esteeming the Confucianism. However, Emperor Wu didn’t accept the “Deracination” suggested by Dong Zhongshu, namely the “Predominance of the Confucianism” known by later generations. Contrarily, he adopted the merging of Confucianism and Legalism,a management philosophy of them combing together. “Letting a hundred flowers bloom” was his implementation academically.
