一道英语难题,
原题是：
Find a word in the brackets that means the same as the two words outside the brackets.
BARREN LAND (_______) RUN AWAY
根据我的理解,就是要找出括号外两个词语的共同点,再用一个词语来形容,填进括号里.但百思不得其解.

barren land为不毛之地,荒地,所以等同于desert (名词形式）；
Run away为抛弃,所以等同于desert(动词形式）
