When Ishaya was 13,she had a chance to leave small village and move in with relatives in Lagos so she could go to school.But the dream turned into a nightmare when her uncle raped her.She got Aids.Then she fled back to the village,where things got even worse.Wherever she went the fingers were being pointed at her and the entire village was deserted for her.
But other than give up,Ishaya began helping others.In 1999,when she was 18,she signed up as a volunteer for an HIV/AIDS group.And in 2000 she found her own organization,Hope for the Living.
Meanwhile,the president met and interviewed those patients,and one of whom was Ishaya.Weeks later there are rumors said that she has got a lot of money from president,people began to attack her.However,she finally persisted in it.
Now Ishaya was 24,in her organization she and other volunteers are helping the Aids patients.They respect them and give them hope to build living confidence.These volunteers use their love to take care of the patients and teach them how to protect themselves.They are just like the angels bringing happiness to the patients.Ishaya said “The people who desperately need help in rural areas are not getting everything.I can’t stand it and will speak the truth.’’
