An Unforgettable Lesson
We were never close, but after the incident, we became best friends.
When I was in middle school, one of the best moments of my life, I got along with everyone, and was not bullied in any way. One afternoon, everyone left except for me and this other girl,Lily,I saw her resting at the table.Worried about my classmate, I stepped forward and asked if she is feeling well."Stomache!" Was all she was able to blur out before going back to rest.So I took her home on my bike and sweetly said goodbye to her.I thought it was not a big deal for me for I thought it's my duty to help others, especially when no one is there for them.
The next day,I saw her refreshed again and sent her a warm smile.Then as I sat at my desk, I noticed a nicely wrapped package with a piece of cute cake inside it. Surprised and touched,I looked back and thanked her. It was the first time that I felt that I truly felt a deep friendship.
Even it was just a little gesture of thanks, I could never forget how happy I felt that day.
Since then,I have learned what helping person could bring about. Not only happiness, but also friendship.
*** the last sentence, not only... but also, has to be parallel structure.Which basically means if you used "the" happiness, you have to use "the" friendship. Since there was no adjective to describe happiness, then you need to take out the "forever" since it's an adjective describe the kind of friendship.
