The cycle in Fig.ib determines the workpiece base surface position in the direction of the axis Z of the spindle relative to the 'zero" position of machine tool Z 0.The final bas- ing of workpiece on the machine is achieved by locating the position of the base surfaces relative to the "zero"position of the machine in the direction of X and Y axes (see Fig.ic).
Two additional cycles of workpiece basing with respect to a hole or cylindrical pin are required for workpieces having an axis of symmetry as the base.The adjustment with reference to the hole is made with four points (Fig.id).As a result,the NC device deter- mines the hole axis in directions X and Y and calculates coordinates X 0 and Y0 and then stores these values.The cycle of adjustment with reference to the cylindrical pin differs in that it is necessary to introduce the path of safe circumvention of the surface (see Fig.le).
