从上文 He is not the first robot in the station, but he is the first one to talk there一句中可知在International Space Station（国际空间站）除了KIROBO外还有其他的 robot “astronaut”（机器人宇航员）.这种 robot 的职责是 speaks to other astronauts and makes them happy（与其他用宇航员说话并使他们高兴）.2013年8月21日,尽管其任务是陪其他宇航员说话,但是有那么一个机器人还是向着更灿烂的未来迈出了一小步.
 
　由上述分析可知,for all的意思是“尽管/虽然”,此处可以看作是 a robot took one small step toward a brighter future for all his duty 的省略.
