Roberta,Peter and Phyllis were lived with their parents in London.But one person put some letters into their father’s desk.So police man said he was a spy,and that he’d sold Government secrets to another country.Then their father was in prison.And they had to leave their house in London and were going to live in the country,in a dear little white house near a railway line.They had to play “being poor” for a while.That’s why they called “The Railway Children”.
