1 ton or short ton (plural tons or ton) = 100 cubic feet
1 long ton weight = 35 cubic feet of seawater displaced by ship
for cargo 1 ton usually equals 40 cubic feet,also called measurement ton.
METRIC (Everywhere but USA)
1 metric ton = 1.102 short tons or 1,000,000 g you can write it as 1 t.
Metric tons also are somtimes written tonne.
