Flakes and laminating surfaces are re-adhered by the same method or by inserting a small piece of a pre-prepared resin film beneath individual flakes.The film is prepared by pouring or brushing a 20% solution of Paraloid B-72 in 50/50 acetone IMS onto a sheet of polythene ,allowing it to dry,and then cutting off pieces of the resin to the required size with a scalpel blade.Where flakes are thin,once in place the resin film is softened using a heated spatula applied momentarily to the surface of the flake over which has been placed a layer of silicone release paper to prevent the spatufa sticking.The Paraloid re-hardens the moment the heat has dissipated holding the flake in place.
