Financial education should be mandatory component of the school program.To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
With the development of today’s economy,people have raised their awareness of financial management in daily lives.Therefore,there has been a trend in schools to involve the financial education as a mandatory component of the school program.In my opinion,it’s unnecessary to do so.
First of all,different students own distinct talents and abilities,which makes them distinguished from each other.And they should be given the opportunity to choose the lessons they like.As financial classes always require mathematic skills,it may appeal to be boring to some students.What’s more,nowadays students are getting more and more stress on the existing subjects,adding the financial class may worsen the situation.
Secondly,financial class is not a lesson we must learn.Although today’s society requires us more about financial management.But as there is a finer division of labor,we can always outsource this part to someone who is professional about it,like the CPA firms.
Someone may argue that in order to catch up with the high-competitive economic environment,everyone should at least have some basic financial knowledge,and I agree with that,but I think the knowledge can be acknowledged in other ways,for example,learned from work or books.And I think that companies will offer such training courses to the staff whose job require them for such knowledge.
In conclusion,I think that schools need not to add the financial education into the mandatory part of the school program,and I think there are other ways for people to acknowledge such skills.
