The idea of going on holiday is to relax.You don"t have to do any bousework.You can go to bed and get up whenever you like,and you can spend the dany swimming,skiing,sunbathing or doing whatever else you want.Unfortunately,things don"t always turn out like that.
Last winter,for example,we went on an expensive skiing holiday.The plane was delayed for nine hours.and we arrived at the resort a day late.The next day,someone crashed into me on the mountain and broke my shoulder,and I had to spend the renst of the week in hospital.
In the summer we went on a package holiday to Florida,and that wasn"t much better.Our lug-gage was sent to the wrong airport,and took three danys to renach us .Then our hotel room was broken into,and our passports and credit cards were stolen,along with our traveller"s cheques and return tick-ets.So we spent the next few days sitting at a desk in a police station,instead of lying by the hotel pool.
Next year I think we"ll spend our holidays at home.It"s safer,cheaper and you don"t have to pack a suitcase.And it"s much more relaxing.
