Dear Barbara,
I’m very pleased to receive your present on my birthday. Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness. It’s very considerate of you to send me such a lovely present in your busy hours. I really appreciate the present and I regard it as our friendship, so I put it on my bed to let it company me every night. It makes me think of you whenever I catch sight of it.
I haven’t seen you for long. I’m looking forward to seeing you again one day. I expect that day will come soon.
I always enjoy reading your letters. Please write to me again.
