Increasing the price of petrol is the best way to solve growing traffic and pollution problems.To what extent do you agree or disagree?What other measures do you think might be effective?

Currently,all kinds of cars have become ubiquitos and you can see various cars everywhere.Therefore,traffic congestion is becoming increasingly severe.Some people tend to think one of the most effectve measures which can combat this issue could be enhancing the price of petrol.However,I hold an against view.
Can we really address the growing traffic and pollution by boosting petrol price?As far as I am concerned,suppose we do so,it would inevitably result in a greater living pressure,those who travel to work by private cars in particular.Such as,they have to increse their budgets of petrol expenditure per month.On the other hand,enhancing the price of petrol could make carmakers lose a host of potential customers as some people maybe give up cars purchase planners due to high loan petrol price.
Nevertheless,it is really high time for us to take actions to get those problems under control.Why not try to control the amount of cars?Suppose we can establish some new polices to prevent the quantity of cars from shooting up,traffic jam and exaust fuems could be improved.Specifically,we can only allow one family to buy no more than 2 cars through legislating.In additon,the goverment should invest more money to public traportation so that encourage individuals to take buses instead of divring private cars.
Therefore,I do not agree with the view of enhacing the price of petrol,because it does not take into consideration we have a lot of better appraoches,such as developing public transport,new legislations etc.
