Yao Ming,the center of the Chinese National Men’s Basketball Team, plays for the Houston Rockets in the NBA. The 2.26m, 120kg center is the first person to come from a foreign team.
Yao Ming was born in Shanghai on September 21 ,1980. His mother was the center and captain of the Chinese National Women’s Team. His father played basketball,too.
Yao Ming is well known in China. He has become a very important basketball player in the China Basketball Association(CBA). In the season of 2000 to 2001, he got about 27 points for the Shanghai Oriental Sharks in every match.
Yao Ming joined the Houston Rockets in November,2002.He said this was a new start for his basketball career(事业). He would do his best to learn from the NBA to improve himself.
