Furthermore, both the American and the Chinese people have a different attitude towards personal space. Quite a few Americans prefer not to stand too close while talking with others. The Chinese would stand crowding themselves with strangers, either on the bus or in the train for instance, while the Americans would in no way allow such body contact. The same thing also happens of cultural differences in schools of both. For example, in order to show respect, students in China will always stand up to answer their teacher's questions. In America, however, students usually remain seated to answer their teacher.
