上次提问“他是否需要参加这个比赛”用whether怎么翻译,得到的答案是：whether he need to participate in this competition or not?后来查字典关于whether or not 看到大多数例句都是这样的：
Whether you like the idea or not,I'm going ahead with it.（
无论你是否喜欢这个意见,我将继续做下去.）那么例句前半句的结构就是我得到的答案的整句话的结构,所以就有些不明白：我要的是问句,而在Whether you like the idea or not,I'm going ahead with it这句中,前半句话并不是问句.而且,whether or not 是：不论,不论如何的意思.和我要翻译的意思也不一致.那么我得到的答案还对吗?为什么?
