1.not so many people people是复数名词,只能用many修饰,不能用much修饰
2.hundreds of 成百上千的,固定结构
类似结构有 tens of/ thousands of
3.这里是去掉hardly 或者don't 其中一个,hardly几乎不,don't不,两个词义重复了.
4.at the end of在...结束时,在.末端
in the end后面不能跟of 意思是 最后,终于=at last=finally
