两者意思差不多,只是表达方式不同而已
前者是动名词的复合结构； 后者是和from 连用
如：
She stopped the boy from climbing the tree
= She stopped the boy climbing the tree (口语）
= She stopped the boy‘s climbing the tree (正式文体）
拓展：

=She kept the boy from climbing the tree (from 不可以省）
