初中课文上有这样的句子： Do you know that potato chips were invented by mistakes? 看例句貌似可数,可是既然可数,却从没见过 i want two chips 的用法啊.到底可不可数?没把握的请回避,以免误导.谢谢.

potato chips一般视为可数名词.
不是所有的可数名词都一定能用具体的基数词单独来修饰.
如：many goods 很多货物
many people 很多人
但是不会说：two goods,three people等
