一般用法:作连词(加从句)或介词(加时间状语)
介词:Tom worked till 11:00 p.m. last night.
连词:Mary was asleep until I waked her up.
和not连用时表示"直到...才..."
She cannot leave the shop until I brought her an umbrella.
直到我把伞带给她,她才离开商店.
not until 的特殊用法
not until +时间状语或从句,助动词+主句
Not until the teacher came in,did the students stop talking.
Not until next week,will the sports meeting be held.
还可以于强调句式(it+be+强调部分+that+主句)一起用
It was not until the teacher came in that the students stopped talking.
It is not until next week that the sports meeting will be held.
