应该去掉the.in the street和in street意思不相同.后者才表示是在街上.就好比in school（去学校,去的人可能是校内人也可能是校外人）和in the school（在学校,是指校内的人）一般；还有in hospitol（指在医院工作的人）和in the hospitol（指生病住院）.类似的还有go to school和go school.
