How time flew!It was Christmas Eve around 9:00 pm.Almie Rose was still sleeping in bed.Her parents knew that they had disappointed (使……失望) their daughter.
“What if I make a little bike out of clay (粘土) and told her that she could trade (交换) the clay bike in for a real one?” her father thought.So he worked for a long time to make a clay bike.
On Christmas morning,Almie Rose’s father gave her the clay-made bike and said something about his bike.The girl looked at the bike for a long time.“Is that true that I can trade in this bike you made for a real one?” the girl asked her father.The father said,“Yes.”
Almie Rose was very sad when she answered,“I will never trade in this beautiful bike that you made for me.I’d rather keep (保留) this than get a real bike.”
In the girl’s eyes,it was the most precious bike she had ever seen.
