abstract: the development of the medium mingled closely with the evolution of human society. as a way of passing on information and intercommunication,the medium has a great influence onthe whole society. in recent years, "becoming the celibrity through the web" (注：网络红人不是一个“现象”所以我这样翻）flourished which is a rife and special phenomenon. a cloud of smoke floated over the verbal battlefield on the internet whichnot only provided the chat topic after meal in daily life, but also became the focus of the traditional media.based onthe phenomenon that becoming the celibrity through the web, the thesis intend to analyse the varied roles and functions different media played in the popularity of distinct types of web celebrities and in the different periods of the success process. at last, a conclusion will be made, that is the media should strengthen their positive functions in the delivery of the message. there are two ways can be adopted, one is to advance the quality of the media group, the other is to enhance the improvement of the media reporting environment.
