donate to去掉todonate这里可以当及物动词的是吧？别的还有问题吗？because ofthe poverty.,

the poverty.,表示贫穷。poverty本身不是就有贫困的意思吗？必须加the吗？我觉得这里加上the表示因为贫穷，而不是其他原因。
