All three of these pieces are a portrait and there are deep meaning behind them.Andy Warhol helps Pop Art paintings and screen printings movement in the 20th century.Warhol’s Blonde makes me remember the characters in Avatar because of the blue skin.I think Avatar shows the changing from 20th century till now.In this picture,the woman looks plastic,and Warhol really likes plastic because he thinks plastic people are more beautiful than real people.According to the research he said he thinks people forgot what emotions were supposed to be during the 1960s.That is the reason he likes to focus on famous people’s faces and catch the emotion.My first thought on The Blonde is she looks happy.And then I focus on her face for 5 seconds,I think she looks a little bit upset.At the beginning I think she looks happy because the color is bright.Thus,the color of the picture can change the emotion.The Self-portrait is also from 20th century.Compared to Warhol’s Blond,the Self-portrait looks sad.From her picture we can see she really wants to stop wars because of her experience.She just can use his drawing to show her thinking and sadness.She doesn’t want to speak to others that she hates war,but she just hope his drawing can tell and resonate.The picture of Gudea statue is really different from other two pictures.Gudea was the ruler of the Sumerian city state of Lagash.This statue includes ruler ship and religion.And it reminds me the Chinese Buddha.The same idea is they have their own beliefs.The color of the Gudea statues are always dark because the dark color looks serious.Thus,people would respect it.
